I found this in a blog that, among the other things, explains the meaning and the origins of words used in Japanese pop culture (if you're interested in the argument or you're studing Japanese I suggest to bookmark it):

Okay, let’s move on. I shall mention ふつくしい[futsukushii] this time. What is it? Oh no, if you really really get impressed by such a beatiful thing beyond descripition, you can’t say anything! You are too touched to say a word…so you just say ふつくしい[futsukushii] not うつくしい[美しい, utsukushii] or beautiful.

This stems from the anime, Yu Gi Oh[遊戯王], particulary episode 54th この町はバトルシティになる！[this town is to be a warplace!]. When Kaiba Seto sees the Ultimate Dragon, he said 美しい. But we can surely mishear it to be ふつくしい. The rumor has it Kaima was too shocked to say it properly. At any rate, this became a famous line to describe such an awesome thing. When you see something like that, please say ふつくしい like him.


Yes, he's so awesome he invented a new word.

Merlin 2x08 was the best ever! Do not say anything I know better. Bradley got my respect, respect for his dramatic abilities. Not very good at playing LOVE but ANGER and DESPERATION he played very well. I adore him from now on.

Title: How to Save a Life
Pairing: Lavi/Kanda
Rating: NC-17
Summary: At age 21, Lavi finally convinces Bookman to let him study at Cambridge. Though weighed down with a heavy courseload, he is secure in his resolve to be a Bookman, but his new roommate, an obviously traumatized Kanda Yuu, begins to change that.
Warnings: AU, no Innocence, scenes of intense self-injury, violence, etc., language, abuse, angst scale: 7-10, and eventual smex
Note: This is another let's-see-how-much-shit-we-can-put-Kanda-through story, so if you don't want heavy angst/depression, we suggest you don't read.
Disclaimer: We don't own DGM. If we did, we'd know what was going on with Kanda's Lotus by now.

Warnings for this chapter: No buttsecks sorry, ainoche. Lewd dreams that are oddly poetic and eloquent. Flashbacks being overutilized again. Fun times on Fall Break!
