This is a collection of some tutorials that I've used when I've got stuck or have no bloody clue how to draw something [such as hands and feet which get me every damn time!]. I've only included those that involve the actual drawing process – none of them are about colouring/drawing using any digital art programs like Photoshop or Open Canvas but if you want to see those just leave a comment or poke me on MSN [priestessofsuzaku13@hotmail.com] and I'll hunt them down!

Many useful tutorials can be found at MangaTutorials.com including things like different hairstyles, clothing and armour and how to create characters but these are just some specific ones I've found. They range from the level of beginners to a more advanced stage of drawing but it's all useful eventually!

Art Programmes

Now. If you're interested in drawing digitally but don't have any programmes at hand to draw with I've uploaded the ones I use to Megaupload. Aside from Open Canvas 1.1, these have all been cracked or come with the serial code so no need to worry about stuff like that. I keep all of these on my flash drive just in case my laptop explodes or something equally hideous. I highly recommend getting them all as they each have useful functions and do completely different things. Photoshop is obviously the best of the bunch, OC4.06 is fun to play with [SPOON PEN, MY BELOVED! ;___;] and OC1.1 has a networking function that lets you draw on the same canvas with other people – I've done this with friends across the globe. It's awesome :D

Whilst these work well with graphics tablets you don't need one to draw - I've seen amazing works of art done with a mouse or a touch pad on a laptop but if you're serious about drawing then I highly recommend getting one [Wacom is the best make, I think].

Photoshop CS3 Extended Portable doesn't need to be installed and can be used on any computer if you keep it on a flash. It's not the newest version but it was only released last year some time . This is the version I use for most of my drawing and I highly recommend it. The file is fairly hefty so be prepared to wait but once you have it unzipped you're good to go!

Photoshop CS isn't the latest version of PS but it's still a damn good programme to have around - this is the one I've been using for years. Instructions are included in the Read Me file. The download file is fairly hefty so be prepared to wait a while.

Open Canvas 4.06+ is a programme that imitates natural mediums like paint and marker pens which is pretty funky if you're going for the traditional art look. I had a few problems actually getting it to work on Vista [read: the damn thing wouldn't run at all D:] but I found a way to get it going properly:

- Right click on the actual application [oC4PE]
- Properties > Compatibility
- Check the box, select 'Windows Server 2003 (Service Pack 1)' and apply
- Right click the application, run as administrator
- Copy and paste the serial number [GPEERA49-SABJ-W8K55NEA], then release
- Right click the application again, run as administrator

That should have sorted out any issues and all functions should be active.

Open Canvas 1.1 is the free, downloadable version of OC and can be found here: http://wistinga.online.fr/opencanvas/ The programme itself is pretty basic but by far the best feature is the Networking function, which allows you to draw with other people who have the same programme, if you give them [or they give you] their IP address depending on who is hosting. Instructions on how to set this up can be found if you google it – I can't actually remember how it works as it's been a while since I networked.

SketchBook Pro is a fun little programme to play with - it's not very good for full coloured, complicated works but I often use it for sketching before I move to photoshop or just for doodling when I want to draw but can't be bothered to do something properly.

If any of the above links don't work or the files expire just let me know and I'll see what I can do!

If you have any more questions feel free to send me an e-mail or add me on MSN using the address I gave at the beginning of the post. That or you can just leave a comment here – you don't need an account as you can just post anonymously although accounts are free.

Hi! Woo for getting the tablet - I couldn't live without mine so I hope yours is just as useful to you!

And my MSN is priestessofsuzaku13@hotmail.com

Can you tell I've had it since I was about 13? D: So embarrassing! But I'm too lazy to move all my contacts over to my new, more grown up e-mail.

For some reason, the downloads for the programs don't work...? or maybe it's just me. :(

I just went through all the links and they all work fine for me - I put in the code on the site, waited the 25 seconds and clicked regular download and the save window came up fine. The only one I can imagine may have problems is PS:CS3 portable as the file is so huge.

Where are you experiencing the problem?

nvm! I think it was just my connection at the time that kept messing it up, because they are working fine now. *shakes fist at computer* Thank you, though ^_^
